My client is currently recruiting for a Project Manager. Initially my client is looking to receive applications from candidates with experience of Project Management gained within the Local Authority arena, of specific interest will be candidates with hands on experience gained within the Health and Social Care environment: Project Management, Social Services, NHS, ICS, ESCR, Anite (Swift), Careworks (RAISE), Cerrus (Saturn), Corelogic (Framework-i), In4tek (Paris), OLM (CareFirst).
The main focus of the role is to manage the operational delivery functions of Project Consultancy and the successful candidate will be responsible for. • Carrying out project management on various software projects. These projects may include: 1. Product development: creation of new product, enhancements to existing product lines 2. Product deployment: project managing technical service resources to ensure installation of infrastructure and software and that deployment hand over tasks are successfully completed. 3. Systems Integration: project managing systems integration projects which cut across multiple products. • Production of required project management documentation plans and schedules covering all aspects of the project lifecycle. • Monitor progress on projects, exception reporting and communicating project schedule, project progress and key milestones to project sponsors, customer lead and supplier leads where appropriate. • Production of project highlight and checkpoint reports. • Risk and issue management: identifying and tracking project risks and issues. Ensuring timely escalation of significant project risks and issues to project sponsors, customer lead and supplier leads where appropriate. • Change control: managing the change control process and ensuring key project members are notified of new scope inclusions or exclusions and the associated impact on delivery time. • Operational management of the project including liaising with key project members to ensure all functional and technical issues are quickly resolved by the correct authority. • Organise regular project update meetings to ensure all team members are kept informed of overall progress. • During the project act as the customer’s escalation route, for both technical and management issues.
Desired Experience:
• Experience in managing projects, especially those which are strongly technical. • Experience in project management best practices. Proven ability to identify and develop project process within the project lifecycle and to implement continuous process improvement. • A capacity to understand product and technological interdependencies. • Excellent organisational and people skills. Leading and communicating across different functional teams to both technical and non-technical audiences. • Proven team and IT management experience. • Good communication and client facing skills. The ability to communicate in both written and oral forms, to both the business and its customers. • Ability to prioritise workload and modify schedules to meet changing deadlines. • Ability to work independently to objectives without close supervision. • Ability to understand both company and customer goals and priorities. • Flexible and pragmatic attitude, with a willingness to work, to liaise and to communicate with people at all levels of the organisation.
