Job Description:
You must have current 'C' experience.

You will carry out development to agreed timescales following migration Record Creation Rule design documentation. Development to be undertaken in ANSI C. You will also liaise with data/business analyst to review pseudo code and write complex mappings. Support the running of the migration routines and undertake defect analysis working with business analyst and testers as required.

Experience

•C & Unix
•Scripting languages – Korn and/or Perl
•Makefiles & libraries
•Pro*C;
•PL/SQL;
•Data file manipulation, including format conversions
•Experience of Oracle, Access and SQL Server
•Structured Analysis & Design (2+ years);
•Familiarity with Windows desktop environments including Microsoft Office
•Ability to work with restricted access to a target system (e.g. though Telnet sessions)
•Release Management;


Project Description
Major £100M plus Programme undertaking transformational change of a full Private Medical Insurance system from a series of 10-20 legacy systems written in a variety of technologies to a single Oracle based platform.

Customer migration involves taking all pertinent data from the various source systems and makes all the Customer data fully transactable within the target system. Migration responsibility covers both reconciliation and ensuring the application can work correctly with the data.

Key Accountabilities
•Work in accordance with Data Migration Methodology.
•Carry out development work on Data Migration projects to agreed time scales as co-ordinated by the Project's Lead Developer.
•Liase with other Migration Developers, Data Analysts and Testers.
•Develop complex Data Migration mappings in ANSI C.
•Conduct Mapping and Code Walkthroughs.
•Conduct development and regression testing on code developed.
•Handle development related to change requests and fault rectification
