The Role:
They are seeking a Software Team Leader to work with the management team in taking the company forward into the next phase of its product development roadmap. A range of new product developments are planned in the marine wireless communications field and an energetic, highly technically competent and pro-active team leader is required to lead a team of software engineers in developing new technologies and products and to create and promote a clear set of working practices and processes for the team.


Key Aspects of the Role:
1 Technical Leadership of the software development team
2 Leading integration activities with hardware platforms
3 Design and implementation of embedded software using C and DSP assembler
4 Design and implementation of PC applications to support existing and future products using C# or VB .net
5 Integration and testing with other system design elements
6 Interfacing with hardware development activities to ensure swift integration

Key Characteristics Required:
1 5 to 10 years experience of full lifecycle embedded software development for volume products in a commercial environment is essential
2 Significant experience of C programming for embedded applications is essential
3 Experience of structured software design methodologies such as UML is highly desirable
4 Educated to degree level in Software/Electronic Engineering or a relevant discipline
5 Self motivated and self sufficient requiring little supervision
6 Excellent written and verbal communication
