My client a leading multi national manufacturer of construction equipment currently has an urgent requirement for a desktop support analyst (1st – 2nd line). This is a 3 month rolling contract due to run through to the end of 2008 and in to 2009.
The role will be based in Leicester, although travel to other UK sites will be required. As such a full clean driver's license is required.
The purpose of your role is to supply 2nd line support to 2000 internal customers serviced from the Leicester office.
As part of the Operations and Support team you will be responsible for ad-hoc hardware support, software installations & support and customer assistance. This is an excellent opportunity for you to play a key role both in customer service activities and administration within the company.
Your duties will include:
Request management:
•Installation of hardware & software peripherals (Desktop related).
•Configuration of software components (Key systems to include Engineering & shop floor applications, Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office).
•Liaising with internal & external suppliers/manufacturers regarding software and hardware products.
•Asset management (lifecycle -MRO & license compliance).
Incident management:
•Maintenance of PC's including fault diagnosis (Desktop & related disciplines).
•Assistance and liaison with 1st line support Help Centre.
•Customer contact (Supplying second line technical support for all customers –face-to-face, telephone and email).
General:
•Use of ITSM principles including request, Incident, Change and Problem management.
•Organisational & Documentation Skills (process & procedure generation / management).
•Use of Peregrine tool suite for recording all incidents and requests.
•Attendance of training as directed, other reasonable duties as required.
Your technical skills must include:
•Windows 2000/XP.
•MS Office suite (2000).
•Lotus notes.
•Active directory.
Desirable skills include:
•Hardware support experience.
•Support of PDA's Blackberries etc.
•Knowledge of TCP/IP.
