Role:
* Development of client applications in the field of sports
* Developing new applications and maintaining / improving existing ones.
* Real Time Data Collection clients are developed in VB.NET, most of the clients data manipulation tools that don't have real time requirements are web-based
* Backend systems are currently architected in Perl, running on Linux (this may be moving to Java in the future)
* Data storage is built on MySQL
* Revision Control System is subversion

Candidate:
* You must have a minimum of 2 years object - oriented VB.NET development experience (especially GUI technologies and network programming)
* Good knowledge of design patterns and an interface based approach to software design
* Linux, Apache, MySQL and Web Development technologies like Javascript, HTML, PHP would be a plus.
* Another development language would be advantageous - Java, C# Perl or C++
* Experience with messaging systems (JMS, MSMQ etc)
