Websphere Support/ Administrator (WAS, AIX) - Blackburn based client is currently seeking a Websphere Administrator to support and manage their corporate Systems (WAS & WAS/ND) on AIX.

As part of the central technology team, your role will involve the administration of IBM Websphere Application Servers (WAS) and Network Deployment products (WAS/ND). Configuring, Upgrading and Troubleshooting errors, along with the ongoing Testing and Performance Tuning of Websphere Systems.

With excellent communication/ interpersonal skills, you will have gained at proven experience working in an AIX environment/ administrative role, with exposure to Websphere (WAS & WAS/ND) and; Applications at V5 & V6, WAS Security Setup, Networking (TCP/IP), Application Deployment, Java/ J2EE also Shell Scripting, ideally with some knowledge of Databases (DB2, Oracle or SQL Server).

Additional areas of interest include: WAS and WAS/ND Design/ Architecture, Websphere MQ, Websphere Commercial Suite, JACL or Jython.

This is an excellent opportunity with a starting salary of up to £40,000 + benefits + On Call + Out of Hours allowance.
