Experienced Infrastructure Specialist required to join a large government organisation.

Your objectives will include; To provide expert technical help in the day to day development of business systems using HP hardware and Microsoft operating systems; To transfer skills to organisation permanent and seconded staff.

Your will be required to; Assist with the development of technical solutions for projects based on stated requirements; Attend high level meetings within the overall programme to provide technical input for project; A detailed knowledge of Windows Vista, |2003, 2008, XP, 2000, both System Administration and Core Technologies is required; A detailed knowledge of Server technology, including IIS, SQL, SharePoint, Active Directory, SAN and NAS, Virtualisation and Blade Technology; A detailed knowledge of security products and technology, including Firewall/IDS, encryption and authentication technologies; Knowledge of networking components based on Ethernet technology is required. In particular, extensive experience of configuring routers, switches and firewalls; Knowledge of development technologies and methods; The ability to communicate with people at all levels and different nationalities (in English) is required; Knowledge of Government/CESG solutions, products and security principles are also desirable.

The following skills and experience is required for this role; Windows 2003 Server (R2), 2008, XP, Vista build, configuration and implementation; Microsoft Active Directory, configuration and implementation; Antivirus Management, device Management, update Management; Auditing and Security products; Sun Solaris OS, build, configuration and implementation; Network storage technologies including HP SAN MSA, Sun StorageTek NAS , build, configuration and implementation; Microsoft SQL Server 2005, build, configuration and implementation; Microsoft Clustering, build, configuration and implementation; Networking technologies, including IP, routers, switches, configuration; Firewalls, configuration and auditing; Messaging systems, Microsoft Exchange configuration and implementation; Systems management, SMS, Radia, configuration and implementation; Web servers, IIS, Apache, configuration and implementation; Backup solutions, tape drives, software, configuration and implementation.
