1st Line Helpdesk £24K (inc. shift-allowance) Midlands - Solihull The Background This successful and well respected organisation is a leading global defence and technology company. They have an opening for a 1st Line Helpdesk operative with current SC security clearance. The Role This is a shift-based role and includes providing systems administration support to the Service desk facility and ensuring that all users receive a friendl, helpful and efficient response to any trouble tickets they raise. You’ll be one of a team responsible for supporting around 1000 users, running on Unix and using Remedy call logging. Shifts are 07:30 to 20:00 and 19:30 to 08:00, operating on a 4-on/4-off pattern. (The salary quoted above is inclusive of a 30% shift allowance. This allowance will only kick in after satisfactory completion of an initial training period of 6-8 weeks). This is a great opportunity for a strong, confident 1st Line Helpdesk professional with demonstrable experience and a good attitude. You This role is tailor-made for a talented Helpdesk professional who is used to working in a demanding environment. With 200 calls to the team per shift you’ll need to be organised, efficient and calm under pressure. All applicants MUST have CURRENT security clearance to SC level. Without this clearance your application will not be successful. Experience in a Unix (Linux) environment is also vital, as is experience of the call logging system Remedy.
