Usability Test Manager required for large FTSE 100 Manager based in large FTSE 100 Company based in Reading
Job Purpose: Our client is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and motivated individual who will be working on a very rapidly evolving agile project to deliver an enterprise content management and online community and eLearning platform. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of content management for the UK public sector, online collaborative environments, eLearning packages and the potential of Web 2.0 functionality.
The post-holder will use professional experience and their initiative to operate in a flexible way to rapidly develop and maintain a strategic focus on designing the required solution. They will work under some guidance, but a degree of independent working is required to complete and deliver work tasks. It is vital that work tasks are delivered through the use and application of high level communication skills.
This project will have a high national profile, therefore awareness and sensitivity is required in handling the different interests and priorities involved.
Accountabilities: To:
1.Plan, organise and execute a programme of tests with end users of pre-release versions of websites and prototypes with end users. Also, in some cases trial features with end users through the use of story-boards and wireframes.
2.Keep abreast of developments with the series of prototypes and releases being produced by our development stream.
3.Contribute to prototype and release reviews from an end user perspective.
4.Organise and execute a programme of user surveys and trials with our end user pilot group,
5.Collate end user testing results into presentations and communicate the results to project stakeholders and delivery teams.
6.Represent to end users in a professional corporate manner.
Person Specification: 1.Solid experience of running web usability sessions for public sector and private sector organisations. Ideally also specific experience in the education sector. 2.An appreciation of what makes a good HCI and of best practice with web usability. Also an appreciation of good web design principles. 3.An appreciation of development constraints and considerations. 4.Evidence of working productively in a fast moving creative Agile environment. 5.Experience of running end user surveys and feeding results into project development activity. 6.Ideally some experience of working in a customer services capacity as evidence of customer facing skills.
